A Message from the Dean

St. Joseph’s College of Nursing stays true to its mission to educate and inspire students to become compassionate healers who demonstrate integrity, innovation, caring and excellence.  Having served on the Governing Board of the College for the past six years, I am keenly aware of the commitment and dedication of the faculty and staff as they prepare students to enter the profession of nursing. These hard-working professionals take great pride in their students’ accomplishments, investing time and attention at a personal level to ensure successful outcomes. Excellence is demonstrated day in and day out to achieve these outstanding educational outcomes.  Among the notable achievements are the students’ NCLEX Pass Rates, which consistently exceed state and national averages and their high degree of success in the workplace.  In addition to other community agencies, the students are afforded the opportunity to serve, learn and become competent in their profession at St. Joseph’s Hospital Health Center, a world-class institution recognized with prestigious awards for excellence in nursing.

The hardships of this past year have reminded us all about the importance of quality healthcare and the central role that nurses hold in the delivery of care within our communities.  I believe, without a doubt, that the College’s graduates are well-prepared to take on and rise above the challenges facing our healthcare system.  Together, we will strive to improve the health outcomes for those we serve.  I am proud to be a nurse and exceedingly thankful for my affiliation with St. Joseph’s College of Nursing.
