Chapter 30: Montgomery GI BillActive Duty

  •  Students must use the WAVE Program to verify enrollment

Chapter 1606 – Montgomery GI Bill-Selected Reserve

  • Monthly Payment Rates is paid to the student 
  • Students must use the WAVE Program to verify enrollment

Chapter 33 – Post 9/11 GI Bill

  • Chapter 33 Programs:
    • Transfer of Entitlement – individual approved by Department of Defense to transfer benefits
    • Fry Scholarship – children and spouses of service members who died in the line of duty while on active duty after September 10, 2001
    • Tuition and Mandatory Fees – net cost after the application of any waiver, scholarship or annual cap
  • Payments paid directly to school; housing allowance books & supplies (up to $100 per semester) allowance paid directly to student 

Chapter 35 – Dependents Education Assistance (DEA)

  • Available to spouse, surviving spouse or dependent child of veteran
  • Monthly Payment Rates is paid to the student based on the number of days certified
